Dr. Andrew Phipps is a multi-talented creative, working as a photographer, cinematographer, fine art printer, and picture framer in Hobart.
As a research fellow at the University of Tasmania and the founder of Eagle Eye Tasmania, he is passionate about using his filmmaking and photography to support environmental and community causes.
His work has been featured in exhibitions across Australia and in films such as “The Giants” (2022). Andrew’s fascination with the night sky began in 2009 when he captured his first Aurora Australis, an event that sparked an enduring passion for astrophotography and for nurturing Tasmania’s vibrant community of sky enthusiasts.
