Kiwi-born photographer Paul Hoelen has traveled the world but eventually settled in the wild island of Tasmania. With a career spanning 25 years, he has been increasingly drawn to the evocative challenge of capturing the Aurora Australis.
His talent has been recognized with the title of Grand Master of Photography in the NZIPP and he has been named Tasmania’s Professional Landscape Photographer of the Year seven times.
Beyond his own work, Paul is a dedicated educator, wilderness guide, and writer who runs photography workshops globally and advocates for numerous environmental and humanitarian causes.
